Dr. Richard Booker is an ordained Christian minister, President of Sounds of the Trumpet, Inc., and the Founder/Director of the Institute for Hebraic-Christian Studies. Prior to entering the ministry, he had a successful business career in management and computer training and development. His last position was Director of Corporate Management Information Systems Training and Standards for Occidental Petroleum in Houston, TX.

Richard left his business career in 1978 to follow a call from God to teach the Bible. He is the author of twenty-five books which are used by churches and Bible schools around the world They have been translated into numerous languages with approximately 350,000 copies in print. He has also developed many seminars on practical Christian living with a view of helping believers develop a deeper understanding and love for God and the Bible. Richard has an MBA and a Ph. D. in Theology. His dissertation was entitled, “No Longer Strangers: An Introduction to the Hebraic Roots of Christianity.”

Through their studies of the Bible, Richard and his wife, Peggy found a shared vision and passion to bless Israel and the Jewish people by developing relationships of love, understanding and mutual respect between Christian and Jews while reconnecting Christians to the Hebraic roots of their faith. They lead yearly tours to Israel where, for the past fifteen years, Richard has been a speaker at the International Christian Celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) in Jerusalem. This gathering is attended by 5,000 Christians from 100 nations. Richard has also been a speaker at the International Christian Zionists Congress in Jerusalem. From their studies and travels, the Bookers have learned much about the history, politics, economics, social, geographic and religious issues of the Middle East.

As the Founder/Directors of the Institute for Hebraic-Christian Studies, Richard and Peggy host top Christian scholars on the subject of the Hebraic roots of Christianity and conduct a monthly meeting on this subject. Richard serves as resident professor at the Institute for Hebraic-Christian Studies, and speaks to groups about the need for Christians and Jews to work together to bless Israel and stand against anti-Semitism.
